Three Valley Conservation Trust (TVCT) is celebrating its 20th as a Conservation organization and has left a lasting, positive impact in southwest Ohio. TVCT is the perpetual steward of 163 properties: 160 conservation easements and 3 fee simple. Their main service area covers 3 counties, but they actually hold easements in 7 counties.
Since TVCT began purchasing easements in 2003 with Federal, State, and Local conservation funds, They have been the direct conduit into the local economy of approximately $28,183,149. On average, that is approximately 2.5 million dollars per year that has gone to paying off mortgages, buying more land and/or equipment, sending kids to college and/or saving for retirement.
Conservation efforts continued in 2014 with the closing of 14 new properties; 10 for the Paddys Run Conservation Project (Butler Co.), 1 in Preble County, 1 in Montgomery County, and 2 properties in Butler County, totaling 1,219 acres. Each property is unique, and the group boasts diverse combinations of agricultural land, natural habitat, forested hillsides, creek frontage, and prime open space. Read more in 2014 Annual Report.
